Hoist contest entry

Well, here we go. This was my entry for the recent IDW contest, Hoist with Rampage and Hubcap.

I've learned a lot completing this entry, and I've also learned about just how much I need to learn This was my first time inking something like this, with the variation in line widths. It's also the first time I tried to depict a Transformer reasonably accurately.

I'd like to give a small explanation about what's happening here: Hoist, who's a helpful mech all around, is reaching down to lend a helping hand to YOU. That's right, the giant hand reaching up in the foreground is meant to represent the viewer, thus bringing you into the scene. In retrospect, this wasn't the best way to go about this. If I'd had time, I would have removed the hand altogether, especially after I found out that NO OTHER transformers were to be in the cover. Well, they didn't disqualify me, and that'll teach me to keep up-to-date on what's happening with a contest like this. Next time I'll read the forum postings while the contest is ongoing, not just after I've submitted my entry.

Edit: Oh, and that's Hubcap in the background, being totally PWNed by Rampage, while Hoist is busy helping some other mech.
